Cheragh – Lighting the Path to Better Health

The educational curriculum of Cheragh Medical University has been developed based on internationally recognized curricula while taking into consideration the specific needs and conditions of Afghanistan. Each academic year consists of two semesters: Spring and Fall.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • A Grade 12 graduation certificate from schools within Afghanistan; or

  • An equivalent certificate from abroad, duly verified by the Ministry of Education.

Entrance Examination (Kankor)

The entrance examination covers the following subjects:

  • Mathematics

  • Physics

  • Chemistry

  • Biology

  • Languages

  • Geology

  • Islamic Culture

  • Relevant subjects from Grades 10, 11, and 12

Registration Period

  • Registration for the Spring Semester takes place in the month of Hoot.

  • Registration for the Fall Semester takes place in the month of Saratan.

Required Documents for Entrance Examination Registration

  • Copy of high school diploma, or three-year academic transcript verified by the Ministry of Education, or Grade 12 completion certificate

  • Copy of National ID Card (Tazkira) or Passport

  • Four passport-sized photographs

  • Entrance examination fee of AFN 1,000

Required Documents for University Enrollment After Passing the Entrance Examination

  • Color copy of the high school diploma, or temporarily a three-year transcript verified by the Ministry of Education

  • Six passport-sized photographs

  • Copy of National ID Card (Tazkira)

  • An essay explaining: “Why do you want to become a doctor?”

Registration and Entrance Examination Fee

A registration fee of AFN 1,000 is paid by each applicant at the time of registration for participation in the Cheragh Medical University entrance examination.

Enrollment Fee

This fee is paid once after successfully passing the entrance examination and being admitted to the university. It covers registration, faculty placement, access to educational programs, and library services.

  • General Medicine: AFN 10,000

  • Stomatology (Dentistry): AFN 7,500

  • Pharmacy: AFN 5,000

Tuition Fees

Tuition fees are paid on a semester basis for theoretical and practical courses:

  • General Medicine: AFN 80,000 per semester

    • 15% discount from Semester 1 to Semester 7

    • 5% discount from Semester 8 to Semester 12

  • Stomatology (Dentistry): AFN 50,000 per semester

    • 15% discount

  • Pharmacy: AFN 30,000 per semester

    • 15% discount
