Cheragh Medical University obtained its official license in accordance with Resolution No. 49 of the Council of Ministers of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, dated 20/12/1386, and received its formal authorization from the Ministry of Higher Education on 19 Hamal 1387. The university began enrolling students on 1 Sonbola 1387.

In pursuit of its academic and institutional objectives, the university has established an Advisory Board at the highest level of its governance structure. The board is composed of distinguished academic and social figures from Afghanistan who provide strategic guidance and recommendations for the advancement of the university. Most of the university’s major and important decisions are made with the consultation and approval of this board. To date, the board has successfully held six sessions and has played a significant role in creating opportunities for the university’s development, recognition, and accreditation.
